LoreBeacon is a place to write your novel and keep your world beside it. You write chapters in a distraction-free editor while a connected story bible holds your characters, locations, factions, lore, maps, character trees, and plot timelines — with optional AI to help build it all.

From your library on the dashboard, give a new book a title and click add — it appears instantly. Open it to add chapters and start writing. You can rename or restructure anything later.

Yes. Everything you create is private to your account by default. Nothing becomes public unless you explicitly publish it to the community.

Yes — your writing autosaves as you type, so you don't have to think about a save button.

Yes. Import a Word or PDF manuscript and LoreBeacon automatically splits it into chapters so you can pick up where you left off.

Each book holds an ordered list of chapters you can reorder, rename, and edit. Your chapter text is also what the AI reads when you ask it to build your story bible, map, character tree, or plot timeline.

It's your story bible — a searchable collection of entries about everything in your world: characters, locations, factions, items, events, and other lore. Entries can be grouped per book and organized with tags.

Create an entry by hand, draft one with AI from a few notes, or import a character bible. You can also open a book and let AI read its chapters to pull characters and places out automatically.

The optional AI can draft entries from your notes, build a Knowledge Base from your chapters, generate an interactive map, build a character tree of who's connected to whom, and assemble a plot timeline of your major events — each read from your own writing.

The features are designed to stay grounded in your text and not invent facts — for example, the map only maps places that are really in your book. AI can still be imperfect, so it's worth reviewing what it produces before you rely on it.

No. Your private content is not used to train our own models. When you run an AI action, the relevant text is sent to our AI processing provider only to return that result. See our Privacy Policy for details.

AI generation runs against usage limits and can occasionally be rate-limited or briefly unavailable. LoreBeacon waits and retries automatically; if it's still busy, give it a few seconds and try again.

Each book can have its own hand-drawn-style map. It's built from your book's locations — or, if you have none yet, the AI reads your chapters, pulls out the real places, saves them as Location entries, and lays them out. You can then edit terrain, routes, regions, eras, and more.

A visual view of your characters and the relationships between them. You can build or update it from your book with AI, which extracts characters and their connections from your chapters.

A node-style timeline of your story's major events — deaths, battles, betrayals, discoveries, and turning points — sorted into story-chronological order. Build it from your book with AI and edit as you go.

Yes — that's the point. Publish a book from its card and it joins the public library at /read, where anyone can find it by genre or tag, read it, like it, comment, and share it. Only the books you mark public are visible.

Your public profile lives at /u/yourname. You add, remove and reorder tabs — Books, About, a Store, a Buy-me-a-coffee link, and more. The look is set by LoreBeacon, so every profile stays clean and consistent; you own the content.

Signed-in readers can like, comment and report. Signed-out visitors can still like (once per book). Anything reported goes to our moderation queue.

Use "Back up everything" to download a ZIP archive of your content as Markdown, a JSON backup, and your images. It's a good idea to keep your own copies.

Yes. Go to Settings → Appearance and choose Light, Dark, or System (which follows your device).

On the log inpage, use “Forgot password?” to receive a reset link by email. You can also enable “Keep me signed in” when logging in to stay signed in on your device.

You can delete individual books (from the book’s page), entries, and images in the app, and you can request full account deletion by contacting support@lorebeacon.com. See our Privacy Policy.

To keep your work around only for as long as it’s wanted, accounts that stay inactive for 12 monthshave their creative content permanently deleted — books, chapters, story-bible entries, maps, timelines, uploads, and your published profile. Your login is kept, so returning simply means signing back in to a fresh account. Signing in or opening your dashboard resets the clock, and you can always export everything first with “Back up everything.” Full details are in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
