Account, sign in, and privacy

Updated August 15, 2026

Staying signed in

Signing up or signing in on a browser remembers you on that browser. If you would rather not be remembered, uncheck Keep me signed in at login and the session ends when you close the browser.

If you are always signed out unexpectedly, check whether your browser clears cookies on exit, which will end the session regardless of this setting.

Changing your email or password

Both live in Settings. Changing your email sends a confirmation to the new address, and the change only takes effect once you click that link, so a typo cannot lock you out.

If you have forgotten your password, use the reset link on the sign in page and follow the emailed link to set a new one.

What is public

Nothing is public until you publish it. Draft books, unpublished chapters, and your whole story bible are private to your account.

When you publish, the chapter text, the book's cover and description, and your profile become readable by anyone. Your story bible stays private even for a published book.

Deleting things

Deleting a book removes its chapters. Deleted chapters go to a trash state first so an accidental delete is recoverable rather than final.

To delete your account entirely, contact support@lorebeacon.com from the address on the account.
