Getting started with LoreBeacon
Updated August 15, 2026
LoreBeacon has two halves that work together. One is a writing app for your manuscript, organised into books and chapters. The other is a story bible that holds everything behind the story: characters, places, worldbuilding, timelines, and maps.
Create your account
Sign up with an email address and pick a handle. The handle becomes your public address, so your profile lives at lorebeacon.com/u/yourname. It is worth a moment of thought because readers will see it.
You will get a confirmation email. Click the link in it and you will be signed in and returned to your library. If it does not arrive within a few minutes, check spam before requesting another.
Start your first book
From your dashboard, create a book and give it a title. You can change the title, cover, description, and genre at any point, so do not stall here.
Inside the book you write in chapters. Add a chapter, start typing, and it saves as you go. There is no save button and nothing to lose if the tab closes.
What to do next
- Write a chapter or two before touching the story bible. It works best when it has real text to read.
- Open the story bible for that book and let it pull out the characters and places you have already written.
- When you are ready for readers, publish individual chapters rather than waiting for the whole book.
