Your work saves itself

The editor saves continuously while you write. There is no save button, and closing the tab does not lose the sentence you were in the middle of.

Chapters

A book is a list of chapters. Add, rename, and reorder them by dragging. Reordering does not touch the text, so writing out of order is perfectly safe. Many writers draft a late scene early and slot it in afterwards.

Each chapter can be public or private independently of the others. That is what makes serialising possible: publish chapter one while chapter twelve is still a mess.

Version history

Earlier versions of a chapter are kept, so a paragraph you deleted two weeks ago is recoverable. Open the chapter's history and you can read previous states and bring back what you need.

Importing existing work

If your manuscript already exists elsewhere, you can import it rather than pasting chapter by chapter. Formatting is preserved where it maps cleanly onto the editor, and anything exotic is simplified rather than dropped.

Exporting

A finished book exports to EPUB, PDF, and DOCX. Your text is yours, and there is no lock-in. Export whenever you want, including mid draft.
